Penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya motivasi belajar yang di sebabkan oleh kurangnya inovasi guru dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan buku cerita bergambar untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas III pada mata pelajaran IPAS di SD Negeri 2 Lebakwangi secara layak dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada model Borg and Gall. Subjek dari uji lapangan awal terdiri dari dua validator ahli materi dan ahli media, sementara subjek dari uji pelaksanaan lapangan adalah 20 siswa kelas III SD Negeri 2 Lebakwangi, Kabupaten Kuningan, Jawa Barat. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi pedoman wawancara, observasi, angket penilaian validator ahli materi dan ahli media, angket tanggapan guru, serta angket tanggapan siswa. Teknik analisis data hasil penilaian validator menggunakan uji Aiken’s V, sedangkan uji efektivitas produk diuji dengan hasil observasi siswa dan uji-t paired sample t-test. Hasil uji lapangan awal menunjukkan buku cerita bergambar untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dikategorikan layak digunakan dengan rata-rata skor Aiken’s V sebesar 0,95 yang termasuk kedalam kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa buku cerita bergambar ini mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dibuktikan dengan nilai thitung 18,14 lebih besar dari ttabel 2.093. Maka dapat disimpulkan buku cerita bergambar untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa yang dikembangkan sangat layak dan efektif.

This research is based on the low learning motivation caused by the lack of teacher innovation in the use of learning media. The purpose of this study is to produce a picture storybook to increase the learning motivation of third-grade students in the subject of IPAS at SD Negeri 2 Lebakwangi appropriately and effectively. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) which refers to the Borg and Gall model. The subjects of the initial field test consisted of two validators, material experts and media experts, while the subjects of the field implementation test were 20 third-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Lebakwangi, Kuningan Regency, West Java. Data collection instruments include interview guidelines, observations, assessment questionnaires of material experts and media experts, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique for the validator's assessment results used the Aiken's V test, while the product effectiveness test was tested with student observation results and paired sample t-tests. The results of the initial field test showed that picture storybooks to increase student learning motivation were categorized as suitable for use with an average Aiken's V score of 0.95 which is included in the very high category. The effectiveness test results indicate that this picture storybook is capable of increasing student learning motivation, as evidenced by the calculated t-value of 18.14, which is greater than the t-table of 2.093. Therefore, it can be concluded that the picture storybook developed for increasing student learning motivation is highly feasible and effective.
