Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) efektivitas kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik yang mendapatkan media Pop Up Book dengan peserta didik yang mendapatkan media gambar setelah perlakuan. (2) peningkatan kemampuan membaca peserta didik antara yang mendapatkan media gambar dengan peserta didik yang mendapatkan media Pop Up Book. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen, desain penelitian yang digunakan adala Non equivalen Control Group postest – pretest deign. Dengan subjek penelitain yang terdiri dari kelas II A sebagai kelas eksperimen berjumlah 23 siswa. Sedangkan kelas II B sebagai kelas kontrol berjumla 22 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui : (1) nilai pretes pada kelas kontrol adalah nilai maksimum 69 dan nilai minimum 31 lalu nilai posttest maksimum 94 dan minimum 56. sedangkan nilai pretes pada kelas eksperimen maksimum 69 minimum 31 lalu nilai posttest maksimum 100 minimum 63. Analisis data menggunakan uji t di peroleh yaitu Thitung = 12,52 dan Ttabel = 1,68 karena Thitung > Ttabel. Hasil penelitian tersebut menyatakan bahwa hipotesis pertama yang diajukan adalah H1 diterima. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan membaca siswa yang menggunakan media Pop Up Book. Nilai rata-rata gain siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,75 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,49 dengan kriteria sedang, hal ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran Pop Up Book dapat mengefektivkan kemampuan membaca siswa di kelas II SDN 2 Kondangsari.

This study aims to describe: (1) the effectiveness of the initial reading ability of students who get Pop Up Book media with students who get image media after treatment. (2) improving the reading ability of students between those who get image media and students who get Pop Up Book media. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a type of quasi-experimental research, the research design used is Non equivalent Control Group postest – pretest deign. With research subjects consisting of class II A as an experimental class totaling 23 students. While class II B as a control class has 22 students. Based on the results of the study, it can be known: (1) the pretest value in the control class is a maximum value of 69 and a minimum value of 31 then a maximum posttest value of 94 and a minimum of 56. While the pretest value in the experimental class is a maximum of 69 minimum 31 then the maximum posttest value is 100 minimum 63. Data analysis using the t test was obtained, namely Tcalculate =
12.52 and Ttabel = 1.68 because Tcalculate > Ttable. The results of the study stated that the first hypothesis proposed was that H1 was accepted. This shows that there are differences in the reading ability of students who use Pop Up Book media. The average gain value of experimental class students was 0.75 and the control class was 0.49 with moderate criteria, this shows that the use of Pop Up Book learning media can effectively improve students' reading skills in grade II SDN 2 Kondangsari.
