Abstract

CTR (Crash Team Racing), dengan penambahan fitur-fitur seperti item power-up,
rintangan, dan NPC (Non-Playable Characters) sebagai lawan. Elemen penting
penambahan NPC dan power up.
Kata Kunci: game racing arcade, collision detection, power-up, mobile gaming,
NPC.

Based on reviews from IGN.com and Metacritic.com, the game Hamsterball is
considered less appealing due to repetitive tracks and the lack of opponents. This
study aims to develop a more engaging racing arcade game titled Running Ball.
This game combines elements from Hamsterball and CTR (Crash Team Racing),
with added features such as power-up items, obstacles, and NPCs (Non-Playable
Characters) as opponents. A critical component of this game's development is the
implementation of a collision detection algorithm, which detects collisions when
players collect power-up items. The system development method used is the Game
Development Life Cycle (GDLC), and the researchers utilized UML for system
design. Based on the results of the User Acceptance Test (UAT), Running Ball
received a score of 88.6%, indicating that it is well-received by respondents. The
game is easy to use on mobile devices and more engaging with the addition of
NPCs and power-ups.
Keyword: game racing arcade, collision detection, power-up, mobile gaming,
NPC.
