Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk memberikan bukti empiris mengenai
pengaruh profitabilitas, leverage, dan kesempatan investasi terhadap kualitas laba. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan sektor energi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan verifikatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 55 perusahaan selama 5 periode tahun 2018-2022 jadi jumlah data 275 observasi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi tidak berpartisipasi sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi data panel dan menggunakan software E-views 9.0. Berdasarkan hasil uji simultan dalam penelitian ini, diperoleh hasil bahwa profitabilitas, leverage, dan kesempatan investasi secara bersama-sama berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas laba. Dari hasil uji parsial menunjukan bahwa profitabilitas dan kesempatan investasi berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kualitas laba. Sedangkan leverage berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap kualitas laba.

The purpose of this study is to provide empirical evidence on the effect of profitability, leverage, and investment opportunities on earning quality. The objects used in this study are energy sector companies. The methods used in this study are descriptive and verifiative methods. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The sample used was 55 companies over 5 periods 2018-2022 so the total data was 275 observations. Data collection techniques using observation techniques do not participate while data analysis techniques use panel data regression analysis and use E-views 9.0 software. Based on the results of the simultaneous test in this study, it was found that profitability, leverage, and investment opportunity set together have a significant effect on the earning quality. And the results of the partial test show that profitability and investment opportunities have a significant positive effect on the earning quality. While leverage has a significant negative effect on earning quality.
