Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 2 SDN 2 Windusengkahan Kecamatan Kuningan kabupaten Kuningan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hasil analisis kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 2 SDN 2 Windusengkahan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa yang berjumlah 23 siswa dan guru kelas 2 SDN 2 Windusengkahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 2 memiliki kategori kurang dengan rata-rata 56. Siswa yang memperoleh nilai 85-100 sebanyak 4 siswa, memperoleh nilai 75-84 sebanyak 6 siswa, yang memperoleh 65-74 sebanyak 1 siswa dan yang memperoleh ≤ 64 sebanyak 12 siswa. Dari ke-5 aspek yang di analisis, aspek yang paling rendah yaitu kelancaran membaca nyaring dan pemahaman bacaan dan menyimak (pemahaman) bacaan.

This research is motivated by the low level of beginning reading skills of grade 2 students of SDN 2 Windusengkahan, Kuningan District, Kuningan Regency. This study was conducted to know the results of the analysis of the beginning reading ability of grade 2 students of SDN 2 Windusengkahan. This type of research used qualitative research using test and interview data collection techniques. The subjects of this study were all 23 students and the grade 2 class’s teacher of SDN Windusengkahan. This research uses case study data analysis. The results showed that the beginning reading ability of grade 2 students had a poor category with an average of 56. Students who scored 85-100 were 4 students, 75-84 were 6 students, 65-74 were 1 student and ≤ 64 were 12 students. Out of the 5 aspects analyzed, the lowest aspects are fluency in reading aloud and reading comprehension and listening (understanding) of reading.
