Abstract

Keterampilan proses sains (KPS) merupakan salah satu keterampilan dasar yang penting dimiliki oleh siswa termasuk di sekolah dasar. Karena KPS merupakan pintu untuk dapat menguasai metode ilmiah dan keterampilan lainnya yang dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan. Namun sejauh ini KPS siswa jarang terlatih di sekolah dasar, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan 1) siswa jarang menggunakan pengamatan atau observasi dalam menjawab suatu permasalahan, 2) siswa kesulitan dalam mengelompokan suatu objek berdasarkan kriteria, 3) kurangnya keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakan alat dan bahan saat melakukan percobaan,
4) siswa kurang mampu dalam membaca grafik, dan 5) siswa tidak dapat memberikan penjelasan atas hasil percobaan atau menjawab pertanyaan dengan sistematis dan jelas. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang dapat melatih KPS siswa, salah satunya adalah melalui model pembelajaran Project based Learning (PjBL). Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment dengan desain Pretest - Posttest Control Group Design.. Subjek penelitian adalah 46 orang siswa kelas V di SDN 2 Kalapagunung. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar observasi, tes uraian dan asesment kinerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan proses sains pada semua indikator setelah kegiatan pembelajaran menggunakan model PjBL. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji MannWhitney U didapatkan nilai Asymp. Sig < 0,05 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan model pembelajaran PjBL terhadap KPS siswa di kelas V SDN 2 Kalapagunung. Serta hasil analisis asement kinerja persentase KPS peserta didik di kelas kontrol adalah 53,26% yang berada pada kriteria kurang dan persentase KPS peserta didik di kelas eksperimen adalah 80,80% yang berada pada kriteria sangat baik.

Science process skills (SPS) are one of the basic skills that are important for students to have, including in elementary schools. Because SPS is a door to mastering scientific methods and other skills needed in life. However, so far, students' SPS are rarely trained in elementary schools, this is indicated by 1) students rarely use observation or observation in answering a problem, 2) students have difficulty in grouping an object based on criteria, 3) lack of student skills in using tools and materials when conducting experiments, 4) students are less able to read graphs, and 5) students cannot provide explanations for the results of experiments or answer questions systematically and clearly. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can train students' SPS, one of which is through the Project based Learning (PjBL) model. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with a Pretest - Posttest Control Group Design design. The subjects of the study were 46 fifth grade students at SDN 2 Kalapagunung. Data collection instruments include observation sheets, essay tests and performance assessments. The results showed that there was an increase in science process skills in all indicators after learning activities using the PjBL model. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using the Mann Whitney U test, the Asymp. Sig <0.05 value was obtained, which means that there is a significant influence of the use of the PjBL learning model on the KPS of students in class V of SDN 2 Kalapagunung. And the results of the performance assessment analysis of the percentage of KPS of students in the control class were 53.26% which was in the less criteria and the percentage of KPS of students in the experimental class was 80.80% which was in the very good criteria.
