Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Winduhaji pada materi perubahan wujud zat khususnya pada topik penguapan dan pengembunan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Children Learning in Science (CLIS) terhadap hasil belajar siswa bila dihadapkan dengan penggunaan model Direct Instruction. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang masing-masing berjumlah 24 siswa. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model CLIS, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model Direct Instruction. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan lembar observasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dengan nilai Thitung = 2,93 yang lebih besar dari Ttabel = 1,96; dan (2) terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai N-Gain, yaitu 0,612 pada kelas eksperimen dan 0,440 pada kelas kontrol. Selain itu, hasil observasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada ranah afektif, dimana jumlah siswa yang berada pada kategori “baik” meningkat dari 17 menjadi 22 siswa. This study was motivated by the low achievement of learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 1 Winduhaji in the material of changes in the form of substances, especially on the topic of evaporation and condensation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) learning model on student learning outcomes compared to the Direct Instruction model. This research used quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, each totaling 24 students. The experimental class used the CLIS model, while the control class used the Direct Instruction model. Data were collected through tests and observation sheets, The data analysis involved assessing normality, homogeneity, and testing hypotheses. The outcomes demonstrated that: (1) there is a significant difference between students' learning outcomes in the experimental and control classes, with the value of Thitung = 2.93 which is greater than Ttabel = 1.96; and (2) there is an increase in learning outcomes indicated by the N-Gain value, which is 0.612 in the experimental class and 0.440 in the control class. In addition, the observation results indicated an increase in the affective domain, where the number of students in the “good” category increased from 17 to 22 students. In the psychomotor domain, all students reached the “good” category in the second meeting. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the Children Learning in Science model helped the students to improve their learning.
