Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar membutuhkan pendekatan yang inovatif untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang optimal bagi siswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pembelajaran IPA di SD Negeri 2 Bagawat, khususnya pada materi Organ Gerak Hewan dan Manusia di kelas 5. Hasil wawancara dengan guru menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran masih menggunakan metode konvensional berupa ceramah dan diskusi dengan media cetak. Keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang ada meliputi gambar contoh yang kurang lengkap, tampilan gambar hanya 2 dimensi, informasi yang tidak menyeluruh, keterbatasan fisik buku, serta variasi materi yang terbatas. Hal ini menyebabkan siswa kesulitan memahami materi, terutama dalam mengenali nama dan fungsi organ gerak vertebrata dan avertebrata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran inovatif berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai solusi alternatif dalam pembelajaran IPA. Metode pengembangan menggunakan teknologi AR dengan algoritma Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) untuk deteksi marker, yang memiliki keunggulan dalam kecepatan dan ketahanan terhadap transformasi geometri. Metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yang digunakan adalah Rapid Application Development (RAD). Adapun tahapan dalam RAD ini adalah penentuan requirement, prototype, feedback dan finalisasi. Media pembelajaran ini dirancang untuk memvisualisasikan objek maya ke dalam objek nyata secara realtime, sehingga memudahkan siswa dalam memahami konsep organ gerak hewan. Hasil yang didapat dengan pengujian UAT menghasilkan peringkat kegunaan 95,4%. Pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis AR ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran, memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif, dan mengatasi keterbatasan media pembelajaran konvensional yang selama ini digunakan.

Science learning in elementary schools requires innovative approaches to provide optimal learning experiences for students. This research is motivated by science learning problems at SD Negeri 2 Bagawat, particularly in the Animal and Human Movement Organs material for grade 5. Interviews with teachers revealed that the learning process still uses conventional methods such as lectures and discussions with printed media. The limitations of existing learning media include incomplete example images, only 2-dimensional image displays, incomplete information, physical limitations of books, and limited material variations. This causes students to have difficulty understanding the material, especially in recognizing the names and functions of vertebrate and invertebrate movement organs. This research aims to develop innovative learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) as an alternative solution in science learning. The development method uses AR technology with the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm for marker detection, which excels in speed and resistance to geometric transformation. The software development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD). The stages in RAD consist of requirements determination, prototyping, feedback, and finalization. This learning media is designed to visualize virtual objects into real objects in real-time, making it easier for students to understand the concept of animal movement organs. Results obtained through UAT testing showed a usability rating of 95.4%. The development of this AR-based learning media is expected to improve students' understanding of learning materials, provide more interactive learning experiences, and overcome the limitations of conventional learning media that have been used so far.
