Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of animation video to enhance students' reading skills, especially for students with intellectual disabilities. This research used pre-experimental method through quantitative approach. The sample of this research was intellectual disability students at SLBN Taruna Mandiri Kuningan in the academic year 2023/2024. To analyze the data, the researcher used statistics analysis procedure through SPSS program. The result of this research was obtained that the mean score of post-test was higher than the mean score of pre-test. The result of test indicate that the hypothesis is accepted. The result of pre-test and post-test was sigificantly different and Ngain test showed sig >0.7, it means the application of animation video effective to enhance students' reading skill. Thus, animation video is effective to be used in enhancing students' reading skills with intellectual disabilities at SLBN Taruna Mandiri Kuningan in the academic year 2023/2024.
