Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Talaga melalui penggunaan aplikasi Duolingo. Penelitian ini terdiri dari satu siklus yang mencakup enam pertemuan dengan melibatkan 20 siswa kelas VIII-B sebagai partisipan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode campuran (*mixed-method*) dengan desain *embedded*. Data dari catatan lapangan dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk menelaah kegiatan pembelajaran kosakata yang dilaksanakan; data dari tes kosakata siswa dianalisis secara statistik untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh aplikasi Duolingo terhadap penguasaan kosakata; serta data dari kuesioner dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap penggunaan aplikasi Duolingo. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t berpasangan (*paired t-test*), aplikasi Duolingo terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa. Hasil *post-test* menunjukkan peningkatan skor yang signifikan dengan persentase 80%, di mana nilai signifikansi (*sig. 2-tailed*) kurang dari 0,05. Selain itu, hasil catatan lapangan menunjukkan bahwa setiap aktivitas yang diterapkan menjadikan pembelajaran kosakata lebih efektif. Terakhir, berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, siswa menunjukkan sikap yang sangat positif terhadap perlakuan tersebut, dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 92.

This study was aimed at enhancing students' vocabulary mastery through Duolingo Application for grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Talaga. This research was consisted of one cycle with six meetings and the participants were 20 students of class VIII-B. The data were collected mixed-method through applying an embedded design. Data taken from field notes were analyzed qualitatively to examine the vocabulary learning activities carried out; Data taken from students' vocabulary tests was analyzed statistically to identify the effect of the Duolingo Application on vocabulary mastery; and data taken from the questionnaire was analyzed descriptively to determine students' attitudes towards using the Duolingo application. Based on the results of the paired t-test, the Duolingo Application is effective in increasing students' vocabulary mastery. The post test results showed a significant increase in scores with a percentage of 80%. The sig. 2-tailed less than 0.05 (sig.2-tailed<0.05). Furthermore, the results taken from field notes show that each activity implemented makes vocabulary learning more effective. In addition, based on the results of the questionnaire, students showed a very Highly Positive attitude towards the treatment because the mean score was 92.
