Latar belakang penelitian ini karena hasil belajar matematika rendah karena guru masih kurang bervariasi dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian quasi experimental design dengan nonequevalent control group design. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini ialah soal pilihan ganda, lembar observasi dan rublik. Subjek peneliti ini adalah siswa kelas VI SD Negeri Cijoho yang berjumlah 58 orang (kelas VI.A atau kelas kontrol sebanyak 28 siswa dan kelas VI.B atau kelas eksperimen sebanyak 30 siswa). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pengolahan data serta pengujian hipotesis dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa : (1) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa di kelas yang menggunakan model discovery learning dengan model Guided Learning pada siswa siswa kelas VI pada muatan matematika materi volume tabung dan kerucut di SD Negeri Cijoho. Hal tersebut dibuktikan oleh nilai ratarata post test kelas eksperimen sebesar 76 lebih besar daripada kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata post test sebesar 66, dan
(2) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model discovery learning dengan model Guided Learning pada siswa kelas VI pada muatan matematika materi volume tabung dan kerucut di SD Negeri Cijoho. Hal tersebut dibuktikan oleh N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,42 (termasuk kategori sedang) lebih besar daripada kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,27 (termasuk kategori rendah).

The background of this research was the low mathematics learning outcomes, caused by the teacher’s lack of variety in using learning models. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of the discovery learning model on students’ learning outcomes. The research method used was a quantitative method, and the type of research was quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The instruments in this research were multiple choice questions, observation sheets, and rubrics. The subjects of this research were 58 sixth-grade students of SD Negeri Cijoho (28 students in class VI.A as the control group and 30 students in class VI.B as the experimental group). Based on the results of the research, data analysis, and hypothesis testing, it could be concluded that: (1) there was a difference in learning outcomes between students in the class that used the discovery learning model and those who used the guided learning model on mathematics content about the volume of cylinders and cones in grade VI at SD Negeri Cijoho. This was proven by the average post-test score of the experimental class which was 76, higher than the control class which had an average post-test score of 66; and
(2) there was a difference in the improvement of learning outcomes between students who used the discovery learning model and those who used the guided learning model. This was shown by the N-Gain score of the experimental class, which was
0.42 (categorized as moderate), higher than the control class with an average NGain score of 0.27 (categorized as low).
