Abstract

This study was conducted to develop a flipbook e-module based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to improve students' mathematical computational thinking skills on the One Variable Linear Equation System (SPLSV) material. This study focuses on the development of e-modules, the level of validity and practicality of the product, and its impact on improving students' mathematical computational thinking skills. This e-module was developed based on the syntax of Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning and indicators of computational thinking skills, namely decomposition, pattern recognition, algorithmic thinking, and generalization of patterns and abstractions with SPLSV material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study were 32 students of class VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Kramatmulya. Data were obtained from the results of validation by material experts, media experts, teacher responses, student responses, pre-test, and post-test. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and tests that had been tested for validity. Data analysis techniques used included validity tests, practicality tests, and N-gain tests for data analysis. The validity of the e-module was tested with a questionnaire filled out by two material expert validators and two media expert validators. The validation results from the two material experts obtained a percentage of 89.88% with a very valid category and the validation results from the two media experts obtained a percentage of 81.25% with a very valid category. The practicality of the e-module was tested with a questionnaire given to teachers and students. The results of the teacher's practicality test percentage were 95.31% and the results of the student's percentage were 84.30%, indicating that the e-module was categorized as very practical. The technique for testing the increase in students' mathematical computational thinking skills with an average N-gain of 0.6 so that it is included in the "moderate" category. The e-module based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the SPLSV material is said to be valid, practical, and can improve students' computational thinking skills. Further research is suggested to focus on improving students' algorithmic thinking skills through the development of media or learning approaches that emphasize the preparation of systematic steps and logical problem solving.
