Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep perkalian, yang ditunjukkan oleh hasil ulangan harian di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media Smart Board terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi perkalian di kelas III SD Negeri Cijoho. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan media smart board desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media Smart Board dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media gambar. Penelitian ini diterapkan pada 64 siswa, dengan kelas eksperimen sebanyak 31 siswa dan kelas kontrol sebanyak 33 siswa. Berdasarkan penelitian instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 soal untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep siswa berdasarkan enam indikator pemahaman konsep matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai hasil posttest pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 71,94, sedangkan rata rata nilai kelas kontrol 65,91. Berdasarkan penghitungan menggunakan uji t diperoleh hasil Thitung sebesar 6,49 dan Ttabel 2,00 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Thitung > Ttabel, artinya terdapat pengaruh pemahaman konsep siswa dengan menggunakan media smart board, sedangkan untuk uji n-gain bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa yang signifikan hal ini ditunjukan oleh hasil N-Gain kelas eksperimen dengan kriteria keefektifan “sedang” sebesar 0,450 > 0,149 nilai gain kelas kontrol dengan krteria “Rendah”. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Smart Board efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi perkalian.

The background of this study is based on the low understanding of students towards the concept of multiplication, which is indicated by the results of daily tests below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims to determine the effect of using Smart Board media on students' conceptual understanding of multiplication material in grade III of Cijoho State Elementary School. This study uses a quasi-experimental method using smart board media with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of the study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class using Smart Board media and the control class using picture media. This study was applied to 64 students, with 31 students in the experimental class and 33 students in the control class. Based on the research, the instrument used was a multiple-choice test of 20 questions to measure students' conceptual understanding based on six indicators of mathematical concept understanding. The results showed that the average posttest score in the experimental class was 71.94, while the average score in the control class was 65.91. Based on the calculation using the t-test, the T-count result was 6.49 and T-table 2.00, so it can be concluded that T-count > T-table, meaning that there is an influence on students' conceptual understanding by using smart board media, while for the n-gain test that there is a significant increase in students' conceptual understanding. This is indicated by the results of the N-Gain experimental class with the effectiveness criteria of "moderate" of 0.450 > 0.149, the gain value of the control class with the criteria of "Low". This shows that the use of Smart Board media is effective in improving students' conceptual understanding of multiplication material.
