Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan keterampilan berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas IV SDN 1 Cibinuang. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah metode pembelajaran yang masih monoton yang kurang melibatkan peserta didik secara langsung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh metode storytelling terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Cibinuang pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Terlihat dari nilai keterampilan berbicara siswa masih di bawah KKM. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode Quasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian ini diimplementasikan pada siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Cibinuang dengan jumlah 20 siswa kelas IV-B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 20 siswa kelas IV-A sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes lisan. Data yang diperoleh kemudian di analisis menggunakan uji statistik yang meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis, dan uji n-gain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan uji t diperoleh Thitung 6,81 > Ttabel 2,024 bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode storytelling terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa apad kelas IV SDN 1 Cibinuang.

This study was motivated by the low ability of students' speaking skills in the Indonesian language subject in class IV SDN 1 Cibinuang. This is caused by several factors, one of which is the learning method which is still monotonous and does not involve students directly. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of class IV students of SDN 1 Cibinuang in the Indonesian language subject. It can be seen from the students' speaking skill scores which are still below the KKM. The research method used is the Quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. This study was implemented on class IV students of SDN 1 Cibinuang with a total of 20 students of class IV-B as the experimental class and 20 students of class IV-A as the control class. The data collection techniques used were observation and oral tests. The data obtained were then analyzed using statistical tests including normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and n-gain tests. The results of this study showed that the t-test obtained Tcount 6.81> Ttable 2.024 that there was an effect of the storytelling method on students' speaking skills in class IV SDN 1 Cibinuang.
