Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan yang
signifikan antara pemahaman konseptual matematika dengan kemampuan numerasi
siswa kelas V dan VI di SD Negeri Sindangpanji III. Penelitian ini menggunakan
metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes
tertulis berbentuk essay untuk mengukur dua variabel: pemahaman konseptual
matematika dan kemampuan numerasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata
rata nilai pemahaman konseptual matematika siswa adalah 29,9 dengan standar
deviasi 4,49, sedangkan rata-rata nilai kemampuan numerasi adalah 18,37 dengan
standar deviasi 2,03. Uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa kedua data berdistribusi
normal. Hasil uji korelasi pearson product moment menunjukkan nilai korelasi
sebesar 0,603 yang berada pada kategori hubungan kuat dan positif. Hal ini berarti
bahwa semakin tinggi pemahaman konseptual matematika siswa, maka semakin
tinggi pula kemampuan numerasi mereka. Uji regresi linear sederhana
menghasilkan persamaan regresi Y = 6,9108 + 0,3327 X, dan uji koefisien
determinasi menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 12% kemampuan numerasi siswa
dipengaruhi oleh pemahaman konseptual matematika, sedangkan sisanya 88%
dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat
hubungan positif yang signifikan antara pemahaman konseptual matematika
dengan kemampuan numerasi siswa. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi
acuan bagi pendidik dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran matematika yang tidak
hanya menekankan pada prosedur, tetapi juga pada pemahaman konsep secara
mendalam.

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between
mathematical conceptual understanding and numeracy skills among fifth and sixth
grade students at SD Negeri Sindangpanji III. The research employed a
quantitative method with a correlational approach. The research instruments
consisted of written essay tests used to measure two variables: mathematical
conceptual understanding and numeracy ability. The results showed that the
average score for mathematical conceptual understanding was 29.9 with a
standard deviation of 4.49, while the average score for numeracy skills was 18.37
with a standard deviation of 2.03. Normality tests confirmed that both data sets
were normally distributed. The pearson product moment correlation test produced
a correlation value of 0.603, indicating a strong and positive relationship. This
means that the higher a student's conceptual understanding of mathematics, the
higher their numeracy skills tend to be. The simple linear regression test produced
the regression equation Y = 6,9108 + 0.3327 X, and the coefficient of determination
test showed that 12% of the variance in students’ numeracy skills is influenced by
their mathematical conceptual understanding, while the remaining 88% is
determined by other factors. In conclusion, there is a significant positive
relationship between mathematical conceptual understanding and numeracy skills.
These findings suggest that educators should emphasize deep conceptual
understanding in mathematics instruction to support the development of students’
numeracy skills.
