Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to describe the types of derivational and inflectional affixes, functions, and meanings. This paper uses qualitative research methods to identify “The Analysis of Derivational and Inflectional Affixes in The Youtube Video The History of English with Kevin Stroud” and how each influenced students' morphological analysis and writing abilities. The researcher identified prefixes, nominal, adverbal, adjectival suffixes, inflectional plural, inflectional past tense, and inflectional adjective as types of derivational and inflectional. There were 252 data divided into 132 derivational and 120 inflectional, those were prefixes that occurred 1 time (0.40%), noun suffixes that occurred 8 times (3.17%), adjective suffixes that occurred 25 times (9.92%), adverb suffixes occurred 98 times (38.89%), Inflectional plural occurred 66 times (26.19%), inflectional past tense occurred 47 times (18.65%) and inflectional adjective 7 times (2.78%). The most dominant affixes used in the Youtube video: The History of English with Kevin Stroud. were adverb suffixes with 98 times (38.89%).. Enhancing the grammatical research materials available to the English Education Department of the Education & Teacher Training Faculty of the University of Kuningan is this project's third purpose, which is crucial to supporting English instruction.
