Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that is considered difficult even avoided by students and students' mathematical communication skills are still low. In addition, learning methods such as the realistic mathematics approach are still rarely used in schools and the lack of availability of learning media is still less than optimal. This research aims to develop an interactive e-module assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 by testing the practicality, validity, and improvement of students' mathematical communication skills. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) by using the ADDIE model analysis (Analyze) design (Design) development (Development) implementation (Implementation) evaluation Evaluate). The use of technology-assisted learning media in schools is still rare. This research developed an e-module with the help of the Articulate Storylie 3 software to improve students' mathematical communication skills with a realistic mathematics approach. The material conveyed in the e-module is number pattern material. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Ciniru in class VIII-B as many as 27 students. The data from this study were obtained from the validation results of material experts, media experts, student and teacher practicality, and student mathematical communication ability test questions. Data collection techniques are observation, questionnaires and tests. The instruments used in this study are media and material expert validation sheets, student and teacher practicality sheets, and mathematical communication ability test questions. The improvement of mathematical communication skills is measured through pre-test and post-test. Based on the results of the material expert validation assessment, the percentage score was 85.65% with the category “very valid”. The results of media expert validation obtained a percentage score of 75.60% with the category “valid”. The results of student practicality score a percentage of 89.94% with the category “very practical”. The results of teacher practicality score a percentage of 97.50% with the category “very practical”. The test results obtained based on the average N-Gain Score is 0.54 with a moderate category. In the development of learning media in the form of interactive e-modules developed is feasible to use. in further research, it can be developed better in the development of e-modules, especially in the features in the e-module and can cover more material other than math material.
