Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis sangat penting dimiliki oleh siswa, namun pada kenyataannya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa masih rendah karena masih banyak siswa yang kesulitan menghubungkan antara matematika teoritis dan praktis, baik antar topik matematika, matematika dengan bidang studi lain, maupun matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini karena kurangnya bahan ajar yang menunjang pembelajaran siswa, sehingga perlu bahan ajar yang membantu peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis pendekatan RME yang dapat menunjang pembelajaran siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi barisan dan deret aritmatika. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp yaitu, fase penelitian pendahuluan, fase pengembangan dan fase penilaian. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian yaitu 21 siswa kelas X SMK Auto Matsuda jurusan Perbankan Syariah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan mengerjakan tes soal uraian. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar validasi, angket respon, dan tes soal uraian. Sumber data diperoleh dari dosen, guru, dan siswa. Produk modul dilakukan uji validitas oleh validator ahli materi dan media. Hasil validasi materi memperoleh persentase sebesar 86.19% sehingga modul dikategorikan sangat valid. Kemudian hasil validasi media memperoleh persentase sebesar 90% sehingga modul dikategorikan sangat valid. Selanjutnya yaitu uji kepraktisan yang dilakukan oleh guru dan siswa. Hasil uji kepraktisan menggunakan angket memperoleh persentase dari guru sebesar 94,67% menunjukkan modul sangat praktis, sedangkan persentase dari siswa sebesar 88,51% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa modul yang telah dikembangkan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika pada materi barisan dan deret aritmatika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Hasil uji N-gain memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,65 yang dikategorikan sedang. Modul berbasis pendekatan RME pada materi barisan dan deret aritmatika dikatakan valid, praktis, dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya pengembangan modul diharapkan memperluas lingkup modul pada jurusan yang lain.

The ability to make mathematical connections is essential for students; however, in reality, students' mathematical connection abilities are still low. Many students struggle to link theoretical mathematics with practical applications, whether between different mathematics topics, between mathematics and other fields of study, or between mathematics and daily life. This issue arises due to the lack of instructional materials that support student learning, thus necessitating the development of materials that can enhance students' mathematical connection abilities. This study aims to develop a module based on the RME approach to support student learning in improving mathematical connection abilities on arithmetic sequences and series topics. The research method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) employing the Plomp development model, which includes the preliminary research phase, the development phase, and the assessment phase. The subjects of the study were 21 tenth-grade students majoring in Sharia Banking at SMK Auto Matsuda. Data collection techniques involved questionnaires and essay tests. The instruments used in this study included validation sheets, response questionnaires, and essay tests. Data sources were obtained from lecturers, teachers, and students. The module product was validated by material and media expert validators. The material validation results obtained a percentage of 86.19%, categorizing the module as very valid. The media validation results obtained a percentage of 90%, categorizing the module as very valid. Next was the practicality test conducted by teachers and students. The practicality test results using questionnaires obtained a percentage from teachers of 94.67%, indicating the module is very practical, while the percentage from students was 88.51%, also categorizing it as very practical. This indicates that the developed module is practical for use in learning arithmetic sequences and series to enhance students' mathematical connection abilities. The N-gain test results obtained an average score of 0.65, which is categorized as moderate. The RME-based module on arithmetic sequences and series is considered valid, practical, and capable of enhancing students' mathematical connection abilities. Suggestions for future researchers include expanding the module's scope to other majors.
