PENERAPAN METODE SHOW AND TELL TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIMAK SISWA SD KELAS IV (Studi Quasi Eksperimen di SD 2 Purwawinangun pada Muatan Bahasa Indonesia).

Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini karena siswa masih kesulitan memahami bacaan yang disampaikan oleh guru, siswa juga kesulitan menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang sekiranya dapat diambil dari bahasa lisan guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metode show and tell terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menyimak siswa SD kelas IV. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan nonequevalent control group design. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini ialah lembar observasi, dan soal tes uraian. Subjek peneliti ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Purwawinangun yang berjumlah 44 orang (kelas IV.A sebanyak 22 siswa dan kelas IV.B sebanyak 22 siswa). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pengolahan data serta pengujian hipotesis dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa : (1) terdapat perbedaan keterampilan menyimak antara siswa yang menggunakan metode Show and Tell dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode tanya jawab, dan (2) terdapat peningkatan keterampilan menyimak siswa yang menggunakan metode Show and Tell dengan yang menggunakan metode tanya jawab.

The background of this research was that students had difficulty understanding the reading presented by the teacher, and they also struggled to answer questions that could be derived from the teacher's spoken language. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the Show and Tell method in improving the listening skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. The research method used in this study was quantitative, with a nonequivalent control group design. The instruments in this research were observation sheets and essay test questions. The subjects of this research were 44 students from fourth grade at SD Negeri 2 Purwawinangun (22 students from Class IV.A and 22 students from Class IV.B). Based on the results of the research, data processing, and hypothesis testing, it was concluded that: (1) there was a difference in listening skills between students who used the Show and Tell method and those who used the question-and-answer method, and (2) there was an improvement in listening skills among students who used the Show and Tell method compared to those who used the question-and-answer method.
