Abstract

Pembelajaran sains di tingkat sekolah dasar, khususnya materi sistem tata surya, sering kali menjadi tantangan karena visualisasinya yang kompleks dan sulit dibayangkan oleh siswa. Kurangnya penggunaan media visual dalam metode pembelajaran konvensional turut menghambat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang media pembelajaran berbasis motion graphic yang menarik dan mudah dipahami, khususnya bagi siswa kelas 6 sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Proses perancangan mengacu pada metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), yang meliputi enam tahap: konsep, desain, pengumpulan bahan, pembuatan, pengujian, dan distribusi. Hasil pengujian alpha menunjukkan bahwa media dinilai sangat baik oleh ahli materi (84%) dan baik oleh ahli media (76%). Sedangkan hasil uji beta terhadap 14 siswa kelas 6 SD Negeri 11 Kuningan menunjukkan tingkat persentase sebesar 81,14%, dengan kategori sangat baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa motion graphic dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep sistem tata surya dengan lebih mudah dan menyenangkan.

Science education at the elementary school level, particularly the topic of the solar system, often presents challenges due to its complex and abstract visualizations that are difficult for students to grasp. The lack of visual media in conventional teaching methods further hinders students' understanding of this subject. This study aims to design an engaging and easy-to-understand motion graphic-based learning media, specifically targeted at sixth-grade elementary school students. A qualitative research method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The design process followed the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which consists of six stages: concept, design, material collection, production, testing, and distribution. Alpha testing results indicated that the media was rated as very good by subject matter experts (84%) and good by media experts (76%). Meanwhile, beta testing involving 14 sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 11 Kuningan showed a score of 81.14%, categorized as very good. These findings suggest that motion graphics can serve as an effective learning tool to help students better understand the solar system in a more enjoyable and accessible way.
