Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belum memenuhi target capaian pembelajaran terutama pada materi pecahan kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Kuningan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh media pembelajaran PhET Simulation terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep pecahan dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi-Experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group design, melibatkan kelas IV A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 18 orang dan kelas IV B sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 19 orang. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah Media PhET Simulation, sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah pemahaman konsep pecahan. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan pretest dan posttest dalam bentuk soal essay yang berjumlah 8 soal. Adapun teknik analisis data meliputi uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji Independent Sample t-Test, dan perhitungan n-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media PhET Simulation signifikan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pecahan dengan nilai thitung (8,59) > t tabel (2,03) h1 diterima atau terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep pecahan antara kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media PhET Simulation dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media flashcard pecahan serta peningkatan n-Gain berkategori sedang. Simpulan penelitian membuktikan bahwa penggunaan PhET Simulation efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pecahan siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Kuningan.

This research was motivated by the students' understanding of mathematical concepts that had not yet achieved the learning targets, particularly in the fraction material for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Kuningan. The aim of the research was to analyze the influence of PhET Simulation learning media on improving the understanding of fraction concepts compared to conventional methods. This study used a Quasi-Experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design, involving class IV A as the experimental group consisting of 18 students and class IV B as the control group consisting of 19 students. The independent variable in this research was PhET Simulation media, while the dependent variable was the understanding of fraction concepts. The data collection technique in this study used pretest and posttest in the form of essay questions totaling 8 items. The data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, Independent Sample t-Test, and n-Gain calculations. The results showed that PhET Simulation media significantly improved the understanding of fraction concepts with a t-value (8.59) > t-table (2.03), leading to the acceptance of H1, or in other words, there was a difference in the understanding of fraction concepts between the experimental class using PhET Simulation media and the control class using fraction flashcards. Additionally, the n-Gain increase was categorized as moderate. The conclusion of the research proved that the use of PhET Simulation was effective in improving the understanding of fraction concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Kuningan.
