Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi memberikan peluang besar dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, termasuk pembelajaran teknik otomotif. Di SMK Negeri 1 Kuningan, pembelajaran sistem transmisi otomatis pada jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan masih terbatas pada buku teks, gambar 2D, dan praktik lapangan dengan sumber daya yang kurang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun aplikasi Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif untuk membantu siswa memahami prinsip kerja transmisi otomatis. Teknologi AR memungkinkan visualisasi objek virtual yang interaktif dengan metode occlusion-based untuk meningkatkan pengalaman belajar. Pengembangan aplikasi menggunakan metode Rational Unified Process (RUP), sedangkan pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi literatur. Hasil pengujian aplikasi menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan pengguna sebesar 89,5%, membuktikan bahwa aplikasi ini efektif sebagai media pembelajaran tambahan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam pembelajaran teknik otomotif di SMK.

The advancement of information technology offers significant opportunities to enhance the quality of education, including automotive engineering learning. At SMK Negeri 1 Kuningan, the teaching of automatic transmission systems in the Light Vehicle Engineering program is still limited to textbooks, 2D images, and hands-on practice with inadequate resources. This research aims to design and develop an Augmented Reality (AR) application as an alternative learning medium to help students understand the working principles of automatic transmissions. AR technology enables interactive visualization of virtual objects using the occlusion-based method to enhance the learning experience. The application development follows the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology, with data collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. Application testing results show a user satisfaction rate of 89.5%, indicating that this application is effective as a supplementary learning tool. This research is expected to provide an innovative solution for automotive engineering education in SMK.
