Abstract

Keruing keladan (Dipterocarpus gracilis) merupakan spesies pohon berkayu besar yang tumbuh subur di hutan hujan tropis dataran rendah. Menurut IUCN Redlist (2017) Dipterocarpus gracilis berstatus Rentan (VU), dikategorikan sebagai terancam punah dan terancam punah. Penelitian mendalam tentang Dipterocarpus gracilis menjadi prioritas kegiatan pengelolaan kawasan untuk tujuan konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur populasi dan karakteristik habitat Dipterocarpus gracilis di kawasan hutan Gunung Tilu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode jelajah. Plot dibuat untuk setiap tahap pertumbuhan yang ditemukan dalam pengumpulan data tentang struktur populasi dianalisis berdasarkan jumlah individu dan kelas diameter. Karakteristik habitat dianalisis berdasarkan faktor biotik berupa analisis vegetasi pendamping dan faktor abiotik meliputi suhu, kelembaban dan pH tanah yang diukur secara langsung, serta jenis tanah, elevasi dan kemiringan menggunakan analisis spasial. Dipterocarpus gracilis ditemukan tumbuh pada 4 galur penelitian yaitu galur Cibinteng, Mungkal Bangkong, Muara Cisurian dan Curug Manteng. Dipterocarpus gracilis di kawasan hutan Gunung Tilu mempunyai daya regenerasi yang baik, dengan struktur populasi yang stabil berbentuk J terbalik yang terdiri dari 17 individu semai, 2 individu pancang, 1 individu tiang dan 3 individu pohon. Vegetasi pendamping Dipterocarpus gracilis di kawasan hutan Gunung Tilu pada tingkat semai adalah Coffea sp, tingkat pancang adalah Baccaurea racemosa, Stelechocarpus burahol, Sterculia oblongata r. Br, Engelhardia spicata dan Dracontomelon dao, tingkat tiang adalah Engelhardia spicata dan Pterospermum javanicum, sedangkan tingkat pohon dengan nilai INP tertinggi adalah Dracontomelon dao sebesar 77,4% dan Alstonia scholaris sebesar 63,1%. Dipterocarpus gracilis di kawasan hutan Gunung Tilu tumbuh secara alami di lereng punggung bukit pada ketinggian 461-880 mdpl, tumbuh optimal pada kemiringan lereng 8-25%, dengan suhu udara 20-27°C dan kelembaban udara 62-78%, tumbuh pada jenis tanah latosol dengan pH tanah 6,8-7,6.

Keruing keladan (Dipterocarpus gracilis) is a large woody tree species that thrives in lowland tropical rainforests. According to the IUCN Redlist (2017) Dipterocarpus gracilis is Vulnerable (VU), categorised as rere and endangered. In-depth research on Dipterocarpus gracilis is a priority for area management activities for conservation purposes. The study aimed to determine the population structure and habitat characteristics of Dipterocarpus gracilis in Gunung Tilu forest area. The research used a quantitative descriptive approach with the cruising method. Plot were made for each growth stage found in the collection of data on population structure was analysed based on the number of individuals and diameter classes. Habitat characteristic were analysed based on biotic factors in the form of companion vegetation analysis and abiotic factors including temperature, humidity and soil pH measured directly, as well as soil type, elevation and slope using spatial analysis. Dipterocrapus gracilis was found growing in 4 research lines, Cibinteng, Mungkal Bangkong, Muara Cisurian and Curug Manteng line. Dipterocarpus gracilis in the Gunung Tilu forest area has good regeneration capacity, with a stable population structure in the form of an inverted J consisting of 17 individuals seedling, 2 individuals sapling, 1 individual pole and 3 individuals tree. The companion vegetation of Dipterocarpus gracilis in Gunung Tilu forest area at seedling level is Coffea sp, sapling level is Baccaurea racemosa, Stelechocarpus burahol, Sterculia oblongata r.Br, Engelhardia spicata and Dracontomelon dao, pole level is Engelhardia spicata and Pterospermum javanicum, while the tree level with the highest INP value is Dracontomelon dao by 77,4% and Alstonia scholaris by 63,1%. Dipterocarpus gracilis in Gunung Tilu forest area grows naturally on ridge slopes at an elevation of 461-880 m.dpl, growing optimally at a slope of 8-25%, with an air temperature of 20-27°C and air humidity of 62-78%, growing on latosol soil types with a soil pH of 6,8-7,6.
