Abstract

ABSTRAK

Materi energi terbarukan pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di sekolah dasar masih sulit dipahami karena konsep perubahan energi bersifat abstrak dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan masih didominasi teks dengan visual terbatas. Perancangan ini bertujuan merancang buku pop-up sebagai media pembelajaran visual berbasis ilustrasi, alur naratif, dan mekanisme pop-up interaktif untuk membantu siswa sekolah dasar kelas 6 memahami proses perubahan energi terbarukan menjadi energi listrik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Analisis data menggunakan Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) menurut Mayring serta metode penyelesaian masalah menggunakan Design Thinking oleh Brown. Hasil perancangan berupa buku pop-up edukatif berjudul “Energi Terbarukan untuk Bumi Kita” yang membahas energi matahari, air, angin, dan panas bumi melalui visual tiga dimensi, ilustrasi bergaya kartun, alur naratif, serta mekanisme pop-up interaktif. Perancangan ini membantu siswa mengetahui bahwa energi terbarukan merupakan energi yang berasal dari alam, mengenal sumber-sumber energi terbarukan, serta memahami alur perubahan energi terbarukan menjadi energi listrik.

Renewable energy material in elementary school science learning is still difficult for students to understand because the concept of energy transformation is abstract and the learning media used is still dominated by text with limited visuals. This design project aims to create a pop-up book as a visual learning medium based on illustrations, narrative flow, and interactive pop-up mechanisms to help sixth grade elementary school students understand the process of transforming renewable energy into electrical energy. The method used in this project is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and literature studies. Data analysis uses Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) by Mayring, while the problem-solving method uses Design Thinking by Brown. The result of this design project is an educational pop-up book entitled “Renewable Energy for Our Earth” which discusses solar, water, wind, and geothermal energy through three-dimensional visuals, child-friendly cartoon-style illustrations, readable typography, and interactive pop-up mechanisms. This design helps students understand that renewable energy comes from natural sources, recognize various types of renewable energy sources, and comprehend the process of transforming renewable energy into electrical energy.
