Abstract

Tanaman pala (Myristica fragrans) merupakan salah satu komoditas rempah bernilai ekonomi tinggi yang memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan di Kecamatan Subang, Kabupaten Kuningan. Namun, pemanfaatan lahan untuk budidaya pala perlu mempertimbangkan tingkat kesesuaian lahan guna mendukung pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan dan produktivitas yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik biofisik lahan, mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan, menentukan faktor-faktor pembatas, serta merumuskan rekomendasi pengelolaan lahan untuk budidaya pala di Blok Pasir Simpur, Desa Subang. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan matching berdasarkan karakteristik iklim, topografi, serta sifat fisik dan kimia tanah. Data diperoleh melalui observasi lapangan, analisis laboratorium terhadap sampel tanah komposit, dan data sekunder. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan dilakukan menggunakan kriteria dari Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Sumberdaya Lahan Pertanian serta prinsip Hukum Minimum (Law of Minimum). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar parameter biofisik, meliputi suhu, kelembapan udara, tekstur tanah, kapasitas tukar kation, kejenuhan basa, pH tanah, kandungan karbon organik, dan salinitas, termasuk dalam kelas sangat sesuai (S1). Kesesuaian lahan aktual terbagi menjadi dua kelas, yaitu S3 (sesuai marginal) seluas 8,3 ha dan N (tidak sesuai) seluas 12,4 ha. Faktor pembatas utama yang memengaruhi kesesuaian lahan adalah curah hujan tahunan rata-rata sebesar 3.430 mm dan kemiringan lereng lebih dari 30%. Rekomendasi pengelolaan lahan yang dapat diterapkan meliputi penerapan sistem agroforestri multistrata, tindakan konservasi tanah dan air, serta rehabilitasi lahan pada area dengan kemiringan lereng yang curam guna mendukung budidaya pala yang berkelanjutan.

Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) is a high-value spice commodity with considerable development potential in Subang District, Kuningan Regency. However, land utilization for nutmeg cultivation must consider land suitability to ensure sustainable management and optimal productivity. This study aimed to identify the biophysical characteristics of the land, evaluate land suitability, determine limiting factors, and formulate land management recommendations for nutmeg cultivation in Pasir Simpur Block, Subang Village. A quantitative descriptive method with a matching approach was employed based on climatic, topographic, and soil physical-chemical characteristics. Data were collected through field observations, laboratory analysis of composite soil samples, and secondary data sources. Land suitability evaluation was conducted using the criteria of the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Land Resources Research and Development and the Law of Minimum principle. The results showed that most biophysical parameters, including temperature, air humidity, soil texture, cation exchange capacity, base saturation, soil pH, organic carbon content, and salinity, were classified as highly suitable (S1). The actual land suitability was divided into two classes: S3 (marginally suitable) covering 8.3 ha and N (not suitable) covering 12.4 ha. The main limiting factors were the average annual rainfall of 3,430 mm and slopes exceeding 30%. Recommended land management practices include the implementation of multistrata agroforestry systems, soil and water conservation measures, and land rehabilitation in steeply sloping areas to support sustainable nutmeg cultivation.
