Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS dan pembelajaran IPAS masih berpusat pada guru dengan menggunakan media yang kurang bervariatif yang menyebabkan siswa cenderung pasif dalam proses pembelajaran dikelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media PhET Simulations dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS dan terdapat perbedaan serta peningkatan perhitungan (N-Gain) pada hasil belajar siswa kelas V yang menggunakan media PhET Simulations dengan menggunakan media konkret rangkaian energi listrik dari baterai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN 3 Purwawinangun yang berjumlah 35 orang yang terdiri dari kelas V A sebanyak 18 siswa dan kelas V B sebanyak 17 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tulis berupa pretest dan postest berbentuk essay. Hasil perhitungan data postest diperoleh nilai uji t thitung = 2,15 dan ttabel = 1,69 (thitung > ttabel). Dan nilai N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh 0,73 dengan kriteria “Tinggi” dan pada kelas kontrol 0,57 dengan kriteria “Sedang”. Maka dapat disimpulkan H1 diterima Ho ditolak.

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of science and science learning is still centered on the teacher using less varied media which causes students to tend to be passive in the learning process in class. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using PhET Simulations media in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of science and there were differences and improvements (N-Gain) in the learning outcomes of fifth grade students who used PhET Simulations media by using concrete media of electrical energy circuits from batteries. This study used a quasi-experimental method. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a research design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects in this study were 35 fifth grade students of SDN 3 Purwawinangun consisting of 18 students from class V A and 17 students from class V B. The data collection technique used a written test in the form of a pretest and posttest in the form of an essay. The results of the posttest data calculation obtained a t-test value of t count = 2.15 and t table = 1.69 (t count > t table). And the N-Gain value in the experimental class was obtained 0.73 with the criteria of "High" and in the control class 0.57 with the criteria of "Medium". So it can be concluded that H1 is accepted Ho is rejected.
