Abstract

MOHAMAD RODI HAMBALI. Estimation of Teak Stand Potential in the Sumurkondang RPH, Waled BKPH, Kuningan KPH, Perum Perhutani, West Java and Banten Regional Division. Supervised by Dr. ILHAM ADHYA, S.Hut., M.Si Dr. AGUS YADI ISMAIL, S.Hut., M.Si
A forest is an integrated ecosystem that requires planning and management based on ecosystem principles tailored to the specific site conditions. Comprehensive data and information about forest resources are obtained through forest inventory activities, which include preparation, data collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of field conditions, stands, understory vegetation, and soil within a forest planning unit for the preparation of the Forest Management Work Plan (RPKH). Therefore, forest inventory activities play a crucial role in providing accurate information about the condition of forest stands, including the status of trees and various characteristics of the growth area. The objective of this study is to calculate the potential volume of teak stands and to determine whether the class of Tectona grandis forest stands at RPH Sumurkondang, BKPH Waled, KPH Kuningan is stable or declining. This research employed an inferential research design, involving the use of samples to estimate certain characteristics within a large population and to test hypotheses concerning a specific population. The calculation of the potential/volume of teak stands in plot 12a, which covers an area of 40.40 hectares with 30 sample plots, resulted in a basal area density of 0.87 m²/ha, a volume per hectare of 66 m³, and a correction factor of 0.7. Thus, the estimated potential/volume of teak stands in plot 12a of RPH Sumurkondang is 1,626.82 m³.
