Abstract

Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat membaca dan menulis siswa yang dikarenakan kurangnya penggunaan media pada saat pembelajaraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) perbedaan kemampuan literasi baca tulis siswa yang menggunakan media audio visual gerak dengan siswa yang menggunakan media gambar 2D, (2) peningkatan kemampuan literasi baca tulis siswa yang menggunakan media audio visual gerak dengan siswa yang menggunakan media gambar 2D. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dan desain non-equivalent control group design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 3 SDN 1 Awirarangan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji prasyarat statistik, uji t dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi baca tulis siswa antara siswa yang menggunakan media audio visual gerak (kelas eksperimen) dengan siswa yang menggunakan media gambar 2D (kelas kontrol), hal tersebut dapat dilihat berdasarkan uji independent t-test diperoleh hasil thitung (12,23 ) > ttabel (1,67) sehingga H1 diterima, (2) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan literasi baca tulis siwa yang menggunakan media audio visual gerak (kelas eksperimen) dengan siswa yang menggunakan media gambar 2D (kelas kontrol), yang dibuktikan dengan perhitungan N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai N-Gain 0,70 dan pada kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai sebesar 0,53. Bahwasanya media audio visual gerak dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi baca tulis siswa kelas 3 di SDN 1 Awirarangan.

The background of this research was the low interest in reading and writing among students, which was caused by the lack of media use during learning activities. This study aimed to describe: (1) the differences in reading and writing literacy skills between students who used motion-based audio-visual media and those who used 2D image media, and (2) the differences in the improvement of reading and writing literacy skills between students who used motion-based audio-visual media and those who used 2D image media. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research and a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this research were third-grade students at SDN 1 Awirarangan. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques included statistical prerequisite tests, t-tests, and N-gain tests. The results of this research showed that (1) there was a difference in reading and writing literacy skills between students who used motion-based audio-visual media (experimental class) and those who used 2D image media (control class), as evidenced by the results of the independent t-test which showed a tvalue (12.23) > ttable (1.67), thus H1 was accepted, and (2) there was a difference in the improvement of reading and writing literacy skills between students who used motion-based audio-visual media (experimental class) and those who used 2D image media (control class), as evidenced by the N-Gain calculation in the experimental class which obtained an N-Gain score of 0.70, while the control class obtained a score of 0.53. Therefore, it could be concluded that motion-based audio-visual media improved the reading and writing literacy skills of third-grade students at SDN 1 Awirarangan.
