Abstract

Penjurusan siswa di tingkat SMA merupakan proses penting untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan potensi sesuai minat dan bakat mereka. SMAN 1 Ciwaru masih menghadapi kendala dalam menentukan jurusan secara efektif karena proses penjurusan masih dilakukan menggunakan Microsoft Excel yang memakan waktu dan rentan kesalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem penjurusan berbasis web dengan menggunakan algoritma C4.5, yang dapat mengklasifikasi data siswa secara otomatis berdasarkan nilai rapor, tes IQ, dan minat siswa. Metode pengembangan sistem penjurusan menggunakan waterfall yang memiliki 5 tahapan terdiri dari requirement, design, implementation, verification dan maintenance. Algoritma C4.5 menghasilkan pohon keputusan yang terdiri dari 2 level dimana siswa diklasifikasikan berdasarkan jumlah nilai mata pelajaran dan test iq. Sistem yang dibangun mampu menentukan jurusan siswa sesuai dengan algoritma yang di pergunakan. Sistem penjurusan mampu mempermudah pihak sekolah untuk melakukan penjurusan dengan cepat dan akurat.

The process of student stream placement in senior high schools plays a pivotal role in aligning students' academic paths with their interests and abilities. However, SMAN 1 Ciwaru continues to face inefficiencies in this process due to its reliance on manual methods using Microsoft Excel, which are time consuming and prone to human error. This research aims to develop a web-based decision support system for student stream placement utilizing the C4.5 algorithm, which classifies students automatically based on their academic performance, IQ test scores, and expressed interests. The system is developed using the waterfall model, encompassing five sequential phases: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, verification, and maintenance. The C4.5 algorithm generates a two-level decision tree that classifies students based on cumulative subject scores and IQ results. The developed system demonstrates its effectiveness in delivering accurate and efficient stream placement decisions, thereby assisting school administrators in optimizing the placement process.
