Abstract

NDVI adalah metode penginderaan jauh yang digunakan untuk mengukur kepadatan dan kesehatan vegetasi berdasarkan perbedaan reflektansi antara cahaya merah dan inframerah dekat. Teknik ini dapat bermanfaat untuk memantau distribusi vegetasi, mengidentifikasi wilayah yang mengalami degradasi, serta mendukung upaya konservasi dan rehabilitasi hutan secara efisien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan hasil analisis NDVI terkait kerapatan vegetasi dengan hasil pengukuran lapangan. Citra satelit Sentinel-2A perekaman tanggal 18 Agustus 2024 digunakan sebagai data untuk melakukan analisis NDVI. Sebanyak 25 plot contoh dengan ukuran 10 m x 10 m diterapkan untuk memverifikasi kepadatan vegetasi sesuai hasil analisis NDVI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang kuat antara nilai NDVI dengan kondisi aktual di lapangan. Nilai NDVI berkisar antara 0,5 - 1, dengan nilai 0,5 lahan tidak bervegetasi, nilai 0,88 kehijauan sangat rendah, nilai 1,00 kehijauan rendah, nilai 1,00 kehijauan rendah, dan nilai 0,99 kehijauan tinggi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa NDVI mampu merepresentasikan kondisi vegetasi secara akurat.

NDVI is a remote sensing method used to measure vegetation density and health based on the difference in reflectance between red and near infrared light. This technique can be useful for monitoring vegetation distribution, identifying areas experiencing degradation, and supporting forest conservation and rehabilitation efforts efficiently. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of NDVI analysis related to vegetation density with the results of field measurements. Sentinel-2A satellite imagery recorded on August 18, 2024 was used as data to conduct NDVI analysis. A total of 25 sample plots with a size of 10 m x 10 m were applied to verify the vegetation density according to the results of NDVI analysis. The results of the study show that there is a strong correlation between NDVI values and actual conditions in the field. NDVI values range from 0.5 to 1, with a value of 0.5 being unvegetated land, a value of 0.88 being very low greenness, a value of 1.00 being low greenness, and a value of 0.99 being high greenness. This study concludes that NDVI is able to represent vegetation conditions accurately.
